Reports are handled by the department supervisory team. Reports are out of character (OOC) and will not be treated as an in-character (IC) scenario.
You open a report by heading to #new-tickets, department report, whichever department the individual is in.
When you open a report, you MUST provide the name of the individual you are reporting, a statement of what occurred, and finally, any kind of evidence to support your statement.
Department supervisors may ask you follow-up questions; it is best that you respond promptly and truthfully.
Any report on supervisors may be handled the same way. When you open a ticket, you can state the rank of the individual you are reporting. Department command staff will remove the roles (and the person) you are reporting. Do not be afraid to report department supervisors. Holding each other accountable leads to overall improved performance, both from the individual and the department as a whole.
Investigations are handled by the supervisory team. Investigations are also OOC.
If added to an investigation, you must answer all questions asked of you. Failure to do so may result in a punishment against you (without your side of the story).
Remain respectful and professional throughout the investigation. Investigations can last anywhere from 12 to 24 hours; however, it may be extended for any reason. Patience is a virtue.
You may request to view any provided evidence; however, supervisors are not required to provide it to you in the interest of protecting the reporting party.
After receiving any punishment (except a verbal warning), you may appeal your punishment to the department heads team and/or the Supervisor District Advisor/Lead.
If you have any questions, commendations, suggestions, or want to praise someone, you may open a BCSO inquiry ticket.
Inquiry tickets may last anywhere from a few minutes to 24 hours, depending on what you have to ask.
If you wish to praise someone, please state their name and the reason for the praise. All departments love the praise given to their units!
